HEALTH CARE–PUTTING PEOPLE IN JAIL
There is something historically new in the proposed Health Care Bill: If a person or family does not purchase Health Care Insurance he will be fined!
This is the first time in the history of the USA that the Government intends to fine a person for not making a purchase.
You cannot drive a car unless you purchase insurance, but you are not fined! In no situation is an individual or family fined for not spending money!
HOW WILL IT BE ENFORCED?
There are approximately 120 million households in the U.S. Many of these households will be unable to pay for health care insurance for innumerable reasons. Many of these reasons will be bonafide, in the sense that there will be no intent to defraud the government.
In order to commit a crime, one must have CRIMINAL INTENT. The Government will find it exceedingly difficult to convict anyone of criminal activity without proving criminal intent.
And, yet, the entire system of health care will fall apart if people unintentionally, or, intentionally, do not buy health insurance. In order to enforce the Health Care Law, the Federal Government will have to convict those people who do not purchase insurance, of a crime, and then, punish them.
HOW DOES THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT PUNISH MILLIONS?
if millions of Americans do not buy insurance, for whatever reason, and are then taken to court, prosecuted and convicted of defrauding the U.S. Government, where and how will these people be punished? Will special prisons be built? Or will the people who do not buy insurance be thrown in with federal criminals?
HAS THE COST OF ENFORCEMENT BEEN CALCULATED?
The total cost of the Health Care Bill has been calculated to come close to one Trillion dollars. But, no one can find in these calculations, the costs for enforcement of the Bill. It is evident that the sponsors of the Bill are ignoring the probability of non-compliance by the public.
And, yet, if people do not buy health insurance the entire project will be a failure.
SUMMARY
The Obama Administration promised health care for everybody – but, they did not mention that people would be fined if they didn’t buy health insurance. In no country in the world is there such an abnormal and dictatorial health care solution.
Across the world, health care is provided to all without cost. Taxes are used for the cost of health care, and no one is forced into buying insurance. This Bill is a non-starter. When it gets into the public sphere and people do not buy the insurance, the Federal Government will be forced to prosecute.
When the Federal Government prosecutes, and people go to jail, the revolution will start.
