CHEATING?
We are all trained by our mothers not to cheat. “Don’t cheat! Would you want that to happen to you?”
Fathers say.. “You can cheat a little, but don’t get caught!”
WHAT IS CHEATING?
We all know… Making another person or group of people believe that we are behaving for their benefit; whereas, in reality, we are behaving only for our benefit and we are harming the other.
This is the essence of the Ponzi Scheme.
Madoff and all his ancestors and his contemporaries and the Madoff’s of the future, know and will know, that other people can be tricked into giving you wealth or favors or love.
Just by making them believe that you are helping them have what others cannot give.
This is the skill of the predator, who gets what he wants without work–simply with words or sounds.
A hawk will sit high on a tree and imitate the sounds of Blue Jays. When a Blue Jay innocently responds, he swoops down and devours
him.
Humans are much more subtle, but the intent and the results are highly similar.
“I’m here to help you!” “I love you!” “I will make you rich!”
And innocent, and perhaps slightly greedy people, respond with a “Yes?” and they are lost.
ADVICE
Do not expect to get what you don’t deserve.
In affairs of the heart, the real evidence lies in actions, not in words.
Facing reality is unpleasant only initially. In the long run it will save you from disaster and you will find happiness.
Don’t get set in your ways! Beautiful flowers always find a new way to face the sun.
