MEXICO DROUGHT WORST IN A CENTURY

Today, Monday, September 07, 2009, Bloomberg reports
on the vast drought covering Mexico.
“This is supposed to be Mexico’s wet season, when daily rains bathe farmland and top off rivers and reservoirs. But rainfall has been sporadic and unusually light — the result, officials say, of an El Niño effect this summer that has warmed Pacific Ocean waters and influenced distant weather patterns.”

The terms “El Nino” or “La Nina” are used continuously
by the media as an explanation for extreme weather.
But, “El Nino” or “La Nina” are nothing but words
which refer to hot air over the Pacific Ocean.
The hot air is nothing more than Global Warming
and no amount of cute terms will change that fact.
Global Warming as I explained in my article on The
Drying Earth is a summation of increased green house
gases in the atmosphere and increased heat production
caused by the release of energy from fuel or electricity.
All of this increased heat is magnified by the increase
in the world’s population.
It is going to take a decimation of the Earth’s
population to stop global warming, as people will not
forgo the use of energy that is extrinsic to their own body.
Whether it is oil or solar, people would always rather
ride than walk. This conservation of energy is
built into the Universe.
FOOD IS DISAPPEARING
“Mexican growers report more than $1 billion in losses from crops planted during spring, in anticipation of seasonal rain. Hard hit have been corn, beans, barley and sorghum, plus livestock. Farmers and officials say the impact, including lost earnings, unpaid debts and shortages of staple foods, could be felt well into next year.”
“Although no one wants to recognize it, there is a food crisis,” said Cruz Lopez Aguilar, president of a national federation representing rural dwellers. He and others say increasing imports to make up for lost crops could raise food costs.”
But, food crisis’s are not limited to Mexico. They
can be found in India, Africa and parts of Asia.
And droughts are not limited to Mexico—we
are seeing them everywhere on the Globe.
THE ARCTIC
The most telling news event of the last week was
the finding by climatologists that the Arctic warming
is caused by human activity
“Instead, the region has warmed 2.2 degrees since 1900 alone, and the decade from 1998 to 2008 was the warmest in two millenniums, according to a team headed by climatologist Darrell S. Kaufman of Northern Arizona University.”

This evidence is impossible to ignore—except that
most people will ignore it, due to their built in desires
to continue life as usual without changing their habits
or incurring greater use of their own energy.
HUNGER IS THE KEY
I predict that we will see patches of hunger around
the world within two years.
Obesity will vanish.
As this planet dries up, there will be extreme water
shortages and no means of irrigating crops.
Hunger and thirst are the two ingredients that
frighten humans the most.
They are approaching.
