WILL THE EURO SURVIVE?
Before I started to write this article, I Googled the question “Can the Euro Survive?” and, of course I got over 10 million responses within 5 seconds.
THE ECONOMIST OF LONDON VOTES
One of the most interesting responses was from The Economist, where the question was laid at the feet of the readership (Yes or No) and the answers tabulated.
89,236 votes were counted and 66% of the readers said “Yes.”
The educated majority of the readers of The Economist think the Euro will survive intact.
Since I am a Director of a corporation that deals in foreign currencies, I thought I needed a more sophisticated opinion than the educated, but unsophisticated readers of The Economist.
GEORGE SOROS OPINION
I found an article by George Soros, a man who has been in the business of trading foreign currencies for over four decades. Apart from his experience, George Soros has been super-successful, having made billions when he shorted the British Pound.
George Soros is not only a foreign Currency trader, he is also a philosopher who has developed his own theory of why financial markets behave the way they do.
In a speech to economists in Italy, he delineated his personal theory and described the Euro and its history and the forces that currently affect its movements.
George Soros concluded that the Euro would survive and that Europe as a political state would change and Germany would become the all powerful leader.
If this theory is true, we would have to conclude that the Second World War was lost by the Allies and won by the descendents of Hitler’s “Superior Race.”
THE LAWS OF NATURE
I, in my ignorance, and always loyal to the Natural Sciences, wondered whether a political solution would solve the economic problems of Europe and save the Euro.
George Soros believes that man’s mind controls events.
HUMANS ARE ANIMALS
I believe that humans are animals like all other animals and that all living things obey the laws of Physics.
I know that our bodies and our brains are made of atoms and molecules, and I believe, like any physicist, that these atoms and molecules obey the Laws of Physics.
We can, indeed, if we look closely, see humans and all animals and plants—that is, all living things—obey the the Four Laws of Thermo-Dynamics.
THE BASIC LAWS OF PHYSICS
As of this date, mankind has found nothing in the universe that does not obey the Laws of Thermo-Dynamics.
Why should the human species be different?
Thus, starting from this fundamental thesis, I think we can arrive at descriptions of why humans behave the way they do, and ultimately, what is in store for those groups of humans called “Nations.”
If we look at the history of the Human Species, we see that it has been around in its present form for about two hundred thousand years.
There are archeological findings all over the planet indicating that humans were living together in groups, generally in caves.
We know that they observed nature, since there are paintings and drawings in these caves of animals and plants.
However, in all our observations of nature, the only patterns that we have observed and that we have codified are the Four Laws of Thermodynamics.
No other description of Nature has persisted in human knowledge.
I would like to focus on one part of The First Law of Thermodynamics.
It is called: THE LAW OF THE CONSERVATION OF ENERGY
What does this Law mean?
It means that any system, and a human body is a system, always tends to conserve energy.
Everything in the Universe obeys this law whether it is Living or Non-living.
You and I obey this Law.
We always try to conserve energy. We can, only through an act of will, force ourselves not to conserve energy.
We can, for example, force ourselves to run and not walk. We can force ourselves to work and not sleep. We can force ourselves to exercise and eat less.
Other animals can do this as well, almost always under the fear of danger.
Only living things can disobey the Law of The Conservation of Energy.
In the Non-Living Universe, there is complete obedience to this Law. However, the living universe is totally different than the Non-Living Universe.
Living things have the ability to choose their behavior.
However, this Free Choice occurs seldom, and is almost always controlled by fear of harm or death.
As humans, we like the idea of Free Choice. We applaud those individuals who ignore the Conservation of Energy and work hard. We eulogize those people who are honest, trustworthy and unafraid of others.
As humans, we instinctively know that Freedom is better than Slavery and that Free Choice makes the difference between the Living Universe and the Dying Universe.
We also instinctively know that the freest human is alone. With a group comes responsibilities, laws and coercions. The bigger the group the more laws, the more coercions and ultimately dictatorship.
With dictatorship comes stagnation and collapse. This scenario has been repeated over and over throughout mankind’s history.
When we look at Europe today, we see this inevitable move towards dictatorship.
What were once a large number of small countries with a happy group of people who had unique cultures, unique languages and unique national behaviors, is now a seething mass of people worrying about a paper currency and who will be their government.
We can easily see the transition from freedom to slavery.
The people of Europe sacrificed their future by borrowing from the Money Lenders in the Temple, so they could lead a life of indulgence.
Now, the Money Lenders are at their heads demanding their money back and also retribution.
REPAY YOUR DEBTS!
People like Soros and many other leaders are telling the Europeans: You must become slaves and repay all debts! You must bow to the glory of the Euro as though it were God!
The people of Europe have indicated that they will obey their leaders because they love the simplicity of one currency and ease of travelling in one country.
They are totally captured by the Law of the Conservation of Energy.
They will permit the construction of a new Dynasty.
They will reject their heritages. Their uniqueness will vanish.
Thus the Euro should survive.
But the Continent of Europe and its diverse peoples will degenerate into an indistinct mass.
Just as did the peoples of the Empires of Ancient Greece, Rome, France, Spain and Great Britain.
